Partner Jay Rossiter has over two decades of experience representing clients in the area of complex commercial litigation with a particular emphasis on insurance coverage disputes. His experience with insurance disputes has involved the full range of risk issues arising for any business, including advertising liability, product liability and intellectual property matters. He regularly counsels and litigates matters relating to first party and third party insurance, including D&O, general liability, professional liability, cyber liability, employment liability and media insurance policies. Jay works closely with both emerging companies and established businesses in the high technology and e-commerce space, assisting with their efforts to identify and protect against the liability risks constantly evolving in their businesses.


Robert Jacobs has represented policyholders in a wide array of insurance coverage disputes arising from such things as product liabilities, asbestos and other toxic tort claims, first-party property loss, business interruption, advertising liability, kidnap and ransom losses, and various directors and officers-related liabilities. Robert has extensive experience assisting policyholders in enforcing their rights to coverage under most commercial insurance products including Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) policies, London Market umbrella and excess policies, so-called “Bermuda Form” excess liability policies, directors and officers liability policies, errors and omissions/professional liability policies, multimedia policies, fidelity policies and other specialized coverage. Robert has written numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer on issues facing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes.


Karin Scherner Aldama focuses her practice on complex insurance recovery matters. She has represented policyholders on a number of complex issues, including in successful London arbitrations under the Bermuda Form. In addition, Karin has extensive experience with complex commercial and appellate litigation. She has particular practice depth managing privilege law issues, including in the international context and with cross-border disputes. In her representation of FORTUNE 500, large and mid-size companies and governmental entities, Karin counsels clients operating in a wide range of industries, including the utility, aerospace, semiconductor and online real estate industries.


Jeff Bowen is a partner practicing in the firm’s Insurance Recovery Litigation practice. He has represented a wide range of large public and private companies and other organizations, as well as their directors and officers, in disputes with their insurance carriers, whether through negotiations, mediation, arbitration or litigation. He has also represented nonprofit institutions, religious organizations and others regarding issues of lost policies and coverage for events occurring long ago, including environmental damage and negligent supervision of former employees.


Commercial litigator John Hardin handles complex commercial disputes and offers significant experience in resolving complex insurance recovery disputes for corporate policy holders and managing real estate litigation in numerous jurisdictions and venues, including in administrative hearings, arbitration and court. John is increasingly guiding his clients through the emerging world of cybersecurity and cyber insurance.


Norton Cutler, a senior counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice, focuses his practice on insurance coverage, telecommunications, technology law, privacy and real estate disputes. Norton was in charge of all insurance coverage issues for NCR Corp. from 1990 to 1993 and has recently been involved in three multi-million dollar insurance recovery for a large financial service company, a large newspaper chain and a mining company.


Freya Bowen represents policyholders in disputes with their insurance carriers under a range of different types of policies, including directors’ and officers’ liability, fidelity bonds, professional liability, media liability, commercial general liability, errors and omissions, cyber-risk, and employee benefits liability.


As an associate with the firm’s Insurance Recovery practice, Catherine Del Prete represents corporate policyholders in coverage disputes and litigation.  Catherine has represented clients in disputes over product liability, environmental contamination, employee theft and other claims.  She also counsels and advises clients on coverage audits, policy renewals and policy language.
